Light360 had been asked by the Sailortown Regeneration team to assist with the architectural lighting for the Interior & Exterior of St Joseph’s Church, Sailortown Belfast.
This historic deconsecrated church building had once been the heart of the Sailortown area in Belfast and a beacon to all those entering and leaving the port of Belfast, some sadly for the last time. Since the late 1990’s the church had been laying dormant, and through the passion, determination and vision of the Sailortown team with local community support have they managed to partially restore the building in some capacity to host cultural events.
Originally planned to host a Christmas community festival in December 2020, Light360 had developed the architectural lighting solutions using a series of RGBW projectors fixed at high within the eaves and balcony to illuminate the incredibly ornate ceiling structure and create a place of interest for community groups to gather in. Unfortunately due to the Covid19 pandemic the event had to be cancelled. However in March 2021, Sailortown & the community group managed to stage series of cultural nights for St Patricks Day with A-Tec design.
